Round Table Conference:

  • Three

1st : 12 Nov, 1930

2nd : 7 Sep, 1931

3rd : 17 Nov, 1932


First RTC :

  • 12 Nov, 1930 at London


  • Inauguration : by British king George-V

  • Head : British P.M Ramsay McDonald

  • Congress : Not attended, boycotted

  • Dr. A.R Ambedkar : attended as the representative of Dalits.

  • attended by : Hindu Mahasabha, Muslim League, Moderate leaders.


Second RTC:

  • 7 Sep, 1931 at London

  • Gandhi Ji took part as the representative of congress


  • 2nd RTC was a big fail

  • on returning to India Gandhi Ji restarted civil disobedience movement "Savinay Avagya Aandolan"

  • Madan Mohan Malviya and Annie Basant joined 2nd RTC on their own expense.


Third RTC:

  • 17 Nov, 1932 at London

  • Congress : again boycotted

  • Government of India act ,1935 "Bharat Sarkar Adhiniyam ,1935" passed in the 3rd RTC.

Note : Dr. B.R Ambedkar was the only Indian who attended all three Round Table Conferences.
